It's hard to say enough about this gorgeous tree. In the spring it leafs out a splendid coral/pink, then delicate pink, then buttery yellow, finally turning a parchment white color before greening for summer. The fall colors are also wonderful but not so spectacular as the spring. The spring color changes occur quickly, however, so one must have a camera handy.
After removing a thicket from a canyon behind our home in 2003, we started learning about Japanese maples, became obsessed by them, and now have about 400 different varieties of Japanese maples. Each year we find new and wonderful varieties, meet other maple collectors and growers, and our garden has become a sensation.
