There is a reason why so many people have Crimson Queens in their gardens: Crimson Queens are dissectums and are the golden labs of the plant world. They define the gorgeous mushroom shape, they are very hardy, and they are singularly beautiful in red-leaf all year round, the red coloration becoming more intense in the autumn. This is a splendid tree the entire year round. What more could one possibly ask?
After removing a thicket from a canyon behind our home in 2003, we started learning about Japanese maples, became obsessed by them, and now have about 400 different varieties of Japanese maples. Each year we find new and wonderful varieties, meet other maple collectors and growers, and our garden has become a sensation.
