I've been told Brandt's Dwarf is a witches' broom. It begins leafing out reddish-purple in the spring, then goes to dark red. In the summer it shows green with an orange or bronze tinge. The fall color is a bright dark red. Brandt's is a true dwarf and maxes out at about 3 feet high and wide. It's simply lovely.

Brandt's Dwarf 5/20/06
